Bryan Kunic of Hollister, California, and Laura Sue Jett of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, have been identified as the victims of a tragic surf rescue incident on Oahu’s North Shore.
Both individuals were caught in the rough waters, where rescue efforts ultimately turned fatal.
Bryan Kunic, 45, was known throughout his community as a dedicated father and a loyal friend.
Originally from Hollister, Bryan was a long-time resident of California who loved the outdoors.
An avid surfer and adventurer, he spent much of his free time exploring the ocean's power and beauty.
Bryan was an active member of his local surf community and often traveled to Hawaii to experience the famed waves of the North Shore.
In addition to his love for the sea, Bryan was deeply committed to his family, especially his two young children.
He was admired for his kindness, strength, and constant willingness to help others. His unexpected death has left a void in the hearts of those who knew him, and his memory will live on in the smiles of his children and the crashing of the waves he loved.
Laura Sue Jett, 50, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, was equally beloved in her community.
