Meghan Rouns Missing, Help Locate Helena, Montana female horseback rider

Meghan Rouns, a 27-year-old horseback rider, went missing on October 4, 2024, in the McMaster Hills Recreation Area near Helena, Montana.

She was last seen riding around 2:00 PM, but later that day, her horse was found without her. Meghan's phone was located in the saddlebag, but there has been no sign of her since.

Search efforts have been intense, involving multiple agencies. The Lewis and Clark County Sheriff’s Office, local Search and Rescue teams, and volunteers from nearby counties are actively searching the area.

The search includes ground teams, drones, and even a helicopter from Great Falls to cover more terrain.

Various agencies, including the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and local emergency flights, are involved in this large-scale operation.

The McMaster Hills area is a rugged region known for its challenging terrain, which has posed difficulties for the search teams.

Meghan is an experienced rider, and there is hope that this skill might aid her survival if she encountered difficulties.

However, the exact circumstances of her disappearance remain unclear.

Speculation has arisen that she may have been thrown from her horse or voluntarily dismounted before the horse bolted.

Authorities have urged anyone with information or who wishes to assist in the search to contact the Lewis and Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

As of now, the search continues, and the community is rallying together to locate Meghan and bring her home safely.
